God's Got This, No Matter What the Bad News Index Says

 "Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things"

Philippians 4:8 (NIV)


It seems we live in an era of "no good news."  The media seems saturated with tales of who told off who, who stole from who, who hurt who, or what doom and pestilence is about to befall us.  I call it the Boo report.  It seems the news is designed to scare us like some horror movie.  Even the weather is reported with Boo in mind, it appears.  

The idea of what the temperature feels like9the heat index).  It can't be hot enough or cold enough without upping their version of the apparent misery.  "Feels like?"  Can you do the math on heat and humidity and tell me how I feel about the weather?  I get the feeling sometimes we common people are being led like sheep by upping the ante on our perceived fears.  

But the Bible tells a different story than the media.  The Bible tells  "Good news," quite the contrary to the media. We don't need a heat index to tell us what we should feel like.  We have a "God-index that tells us what to think on.  In the above verse, it says we should think on whatever is right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy.   The Bible goes on to say that the "God of peace will be with you."   We want peace?  Think on those positives from the good news.  God's got this, no matter what the bad news index says. Praise  God, for He is in control of our lives unto life eternal:  the good news, "Think on these things."
